I get so many questions about how to wear a brimmed hat. I know they’re all the rage, but they can be intimidating if you’ve never worn one before. I’m here to tell you to not be scared of them! Here’s how to style your brimmed hat.
You have so many options when it comes to how to style your brimmed hat. You can wear it with a dress or a more casual outfit. Wear your hair in a side braid or low bun, or leave your hair down. The options are endless.
An easy hairstyle with a wide brimmed hat is a side bun at the nape of your neck. To do this, just pull your hair back and to the side and secure in a low, loose ponytail or bun on the side of your head.
You can wear your hat tilted on the back of your head, or more on the top of your head. Whichever you prefer and whichever way works best with your hairstyle. If you tilt the hat more onto the back of your head, you will be able to see the wide brim framing your face more. Whereas if you put your hat on the top of your head, you can show any detailing your hat has along the base of the crown.
Keep in mind the style of your outfit and what you’re wearing. For me, when I’m more dressed up or trendy I find that I tend to wear my hats on the back of my head more often. I love the look of showing off the wide brim around my face.
One thing to remember- many of these hats have the ability to be adjusted inside the crown of the hat. If you find that your hat feels loose, check to see if it can be adjusted inside for a custom fit!
