Oh man you guys, it is just getting colder and colder outside every day. This means winter is approaching quickly, so you need to start transitioning your wardrobe from fall to winter. The last thing that I want you to do is go out and buy an entire new wardrobe, so today we are going to be going over a few basic ways to transition your favorite fall outfits into winter outfits.
Pull out all those fall season basics that you invested in and figure out what you have that you will be able to easily layer in the upcoming winter months. A lot of neutral pieces like turtlenecks, jackets, leggings, and T-shirts are all basics that can serve as new layering bases in the winter months. Be sure not to put anything away until you have assessed what you already have!
I think that this basic tee and this Helena top are going to transition perfectly from fall to winter.

Sometimes all you need to do is add a few more pieces of clothing to the clothes that you already have hanging in your closet. I love stocking up on cardigans and jackets that I can easily layer with my basic fall t-shirts and sweaters. Layers are nice because they keep you warm when you are outside and give you some flexibility when you are inside. I like to pick jackets and cardigans that can easily be removed if I get inside a facility and am all the sudden sweating bullets. These chunky knit cardigans are SO flattering and the perfect layering piece to pair with your favorite graphic tee.
I am also loving absolutely loving this coat to layer with literally everything in my closet! It is the perfect camel color and has enough room to layer with a cute sweater or a basic tee. The possibilities are endless! It has been my go-to piece of clothing for transitioning from fall to winter this year.

Accessorizing accordingly is the easiest way to turn a “fall” piece of clothing into a winter piece of clothing. Cute beanies are all the rage this year and for good reason! They instantly add personality to your outfit, and they give you an extra day of not having to wash your hair. Yes, please! All these pom beanies have my heart, and the neutral colors are perfect for winter! Plus, they will go with everything in your closet!
The thick band on these beanies will add extra warmth and style to your outfit. I plan on wearing this blush colored beanie just about every day this winter in case you were wondering!
Nobody likes cold toes, so boots are always a good idea when dressing to brave the cold. You can easily pair boots with your fall clothes and make your outfit instantly more winter friendly! When picking out winter boots I would suggest picking colors that are darker and easy to match with multiple outfits. If you can get a staple brown boot and a staple black boot in your closet, then you should basically have a boot to go with every outfit! Chunky heeled boots are totally on trend this winter. These chunky boots are to die for and come in a black and a brown version!
When it comes to transitioning my wardrobe from fall to winter, dresses are always an easy go-to for me! I love wearing my dark tones/floral prints like this one in the winter. Since I stocked up on plenty of those in the fall, I can now add on a cardigan and some tights to easily transition into the winter months. Add some of my favorite boots to the outfit and I basically look like a million bucks (without having to spend a million bucks on a new wardrobe).
